At Unbiased, we take your data protection rights seriously and are committed to handling personal data responsibly and transparently.
What is a Data Protection Complaint?
A data protection complaint relates to how we have handled your personal information. This includes concerns about:
Access to your data: including how we've responded to a data subject access request;
Accuracy: where you believe the personal data we hold about you is incorrect;
Security: concerns about how your data has been protected;
Use of your data: how we've collected, processed, or shared your personal information;
Your data protection rights: including rectification, erasure, restriction, or portability.
Note: General service complaints (such as subscription pricing, platform features, or return on investment) are handled through our standard feedback process and are not classified as data protection complaints.
How to Submit a Data Protection Complaint
We request all data protection complaints be made by email to dataprotection@unbiased.co.uk. Please include:
● Your name and contact details;
● A clear description of your concern;
● Any relevant reference numbers or correspondence;
● The outcome you are seeking.
How We Handle Data Protection Complaints
Initial Review: Our Data Protection Lead will review your complaint and acknowledge receipt within 5 working days.
Investigation: We will examine the matters raised, including reviewing relevant records and consulting with appropriate teams.
Response: We will provide a written outcome without undue delay. Most complaints are resolved within one month, though complex cases may take longer.
Escalation: If your complaint requires specialist attention, it will be passed to the relevant department or seniority level within our company.
Outcome Communication: You will receive a clear written response explaining our findings and any actions taken.
Your Right to Escalate to the ICO
If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to escalate your complaint to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at:

Please note: You must raise your complaint with us first before escalating to the ICO.
