A handy guide to help you edit your company's information, add client recommendations, social links and photos
Every Unbiased subscription comes with an eye-catching profile within our advice directory, advertising your company and services to the 10 million potential customers who visit Unbiased each year.
Your profile benefits from the strong SEO rankings we’ve built up over 32 years, bringing you increased brand awareness as well as social-proofing for your own website.
You can add your company information, colleagues, social links, photos, client testimonials, location, services, and preferred clients to your profile. It's a good idea to make your profile as attractive as possible using all the features available.
Boost Your Profile's Performance
- Include all your qualifications and credentials (for legal reasons, make sure these are accurate) – this both attracts the right clients and helps us match you with suitable enquiries;
- Upload good quality photos of your advisers – people relate better to faces;
- Upload your company logo – it helps users recognise and remember you;
- Write an engaging description of your firm (avoiding marketing clichés) – this is a great opportunity to convince prospective clients that you are right for them;
- Add client testimonials and quotes from your happy customers – these are particularly important for attracting clients who browse our directory;
- Set your specialisms so prospective clients know the areas of advice you can help them with;
- Consider offering one or more of our special offers;
- Fully complete your profile: fully completed profiles are more likely to convert than incomplete ones;
- Add additional locations to boost your exposure nationwide.
Updating Your Company Information
To update or amend your company information:
1. Log into your dashboard. Then click ‘Profiles’ from the left-hand navigation;
2. Against the profile you want to amend, select ‘Actions’ on the right-hand side of that profile.
3. From the dropdown, select ‘Manage profile’ which takes you to the profile editing page.
Here you can add your company information, such as your sales pitch, welcome message, advice methods, company accreditations, minimum asset/pension/mortgage values, contact details, and FCA and business information.
Leads can send you an enquiry directly from your profile page, so it's a good idea to make your profile as attractive as possible using all the features available.
Adding Client Testimonials
To add client recommendations or testimonials to your profile, log in to your dashboard and:
- Click on 'Profiles' in the left sidebar of your account.
- Click anywhere on the profile, or the arrow on the right side and 'Manage Profile' to open your profile editing page.
- Click on the 'Testimonials' tab and fill in the client recommendation in the free text field.
The testimonial will be visible on your public profile once you save. Please be mindful to not publicise private or identifying information from your clients.
Adding Social Media Links
To add web, blog or social media links to your Unbiased directory profile, log into your dashboard. From here:
1. Click ‘Profiles’ from the left-hand navigation. This will show your profiles.
2. For the profile you want to add social links to, select ‘Actions’ on the right-hand side of that profile.
3. From the dropdown, select ‘Manage profile’ which will take you to the profile editing page.
Scroll down to the ‘Website & social media’ section, where you can input links to your website, blog, and social media.
Please note some of these features are unavailable on our legacy plans. For more information contact your Account Manager.
Add Company Logo
To add your firm's company logo, log into your dashboard.
1. From here, click ‘Profiles’ from the left-hand navigation. This will show your profiles.
2. For the profile you want to add a photo to, select ‘Actions’ on the right-hand side of the profile. 3. From the dropdown select ‘Manage profile’, taking you to the profile editing page. Here you can add a photo to the ‘Profile logo’ section by clicking 'Upload image'.
We recommend you use a JPEG or PNG image file which is at least 125x90 pixels for the best display results.
Preview your profile
You can view how your public-facing profile appears to potential clients at any time. To do this:
1. Click ‘Profiles’ in your dashboard’s left-hand navigation
2. Select ‘Actions’ on the right-hand side of that profile and from the dropdown, select ‘View public profile’. You can then see how your profile appears to prospective clients.
